On June 10, 2025, the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization released the '2025 List of Shanghai 'Specialized and New' Small and Medium-sized Enterprises,' and Shanghai Fangchi New Material Technology Co., Ltd. was included. This is another important qualification for the company following its recognition as a High-Tech Enterprise in 2018.
'Specialized and New' refers to small and medium-sized enterprises characterized by 'specialization, refinement, distinctiveness, and innovation.' The evaluation scores companies across multiple dimensions, including R&D investment, market share of leading products, number of intellectual property rights, and management system certifications. According to the application materials, Fangchi's leading product, 'Precision MIM Components,' holds a leading market share in the Shanghai region within the niche market of consumer electronics hinge components.
According to the company's technical director, Fangchi's R&D investment has remained above 6% of its operating revenue over the past three years. The company has accumulated over 40 authorized patents, including 4 invention patents. Its self-developed metal powder feedstock formulation has broken foreign monopolies, reducing material costs by approximately 15%, and has been applied in mass production for Type-C interface housings.
Following this recognition, the company will benefit from policy support including tax incentives, loan interest subsidies, and talent introduction. A relevant official from the Songjiang District Economic Commission stated that 'Specialized and New' enterprises will be given priority for recommendation to apply for national-level 'Little Giant' status, and will receive funding support for technological transformation projects.
Fangchi's general manager stated that this honor is both an affirmation of the company's past work and an incentive for the future. The company will continue to focus on MIM technology, increasing R&D efforts in automotive lightweight parts and medical implant-grade components, and aims to meet the standards for national-level 'Little Giant' enterprises within three years.
Currently, the company has initiated a new round of R&D center expansion plans, which are expected to add 500 square meters of laboratory space and procure advanced material analysis equipment to further enhance its independent R&D capabilities.
