From June 12 to 14, 2025, the 17th International Powder Metallurgy and Cemented Carbide Exhibition was held at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center. The exhibition covered an area of 40,000 square meters, attracting over 600 exhibitors from around the world and more than 20,000 professional visitors. Shanghai Fangchi New Material Technology Co., Ltd. participated in the exhibition for the third consecutive year, with its booth located in the core area of the main hall.
Fangchi's key exhibits included: laptop hinges, Type-C interface housings, and phone SIM card trays for consumer electronics; airbag inflator components and shift mechanism ratchets for automotive applications; and surgical instrument handle parts and stapler cartridge assemblies for the medical field. Additionally, the company showcased several newly developed special-shaped structural parts, such as drone motor mounts and optical module housings.
At the booth, the company deployed an 8-person team covering sales, technical, and marketing roles. According to the sales manager, the booth received approximately 200 professional visitors over the three days, including about 30 clients with clear MIM parts procurement needs. Huawei's structural parts procurement team spent about 20 minutes at the booth, inquiring in detail about the dimensional accuracy and production capacity of the Type-C housings, and took samples for evaluation. Engineers from Midea, BYD, and DJI also visited for discussions.
In addition to domestic clients, buyers from South Korea, India, and Turkey also showed interest in automotive and medical parts. One Korean automotive parts company left drawings for three products, requesting Fangchi to provide preliminary quotations and technical proposals within a week.
During the exhibition, Fangchi's technical director was also invited to speak at the 'Powder Metallurgy Technology Forum,' delivering a presentation titled 'Application of MIM in Thin-Wall Parts for Consumer Electronics.' The talk introduced the company's process breakthroughs in developing the next-generation Type-C housing, attracting attention from industry peers.
The company's general manager stated that participating in the exhibition not only generated immediate business opportunities but also enhanced the company's brand image. According to post-exhibition statistics, a total of 52 valid inquiries were received, with 10 clients having already entered the sample submission or quotation stage. It is estimated that these new projects will bring approximately 20 million RMB in incremental orders to the company between the second half of 2025 and 2026.
